Jazz in Extenso with Special Guest Vocalist Kristina Kelman will be performing jazz greats from the 40’s to the 70’s. Songs include, ‘In the Mood’, ‘Take a train to Georgia’, ‘The way you look tonight’ and many more.

Guests are encouraged to dress up – Fancy Dress and enjoy the evening’s entertainment and two course dinner.

The combo JAZZ in extenso comprises of a trio namely tenor sax, guitar or piano and bass. Drums are added as a quartet. Royden Ainsworth, Greg Carger, Fred Cole, Hans Lovejoy and Ben Cox.

Wonderful jazz vocalist, Kristina Kelman is the very special gust for the evening. Kristina is from Brisbane and has performed around Australia and Asia, Europe and the USA, with many artists including Don Burrows, Tommy Tycho and the Qld Symphony Orchestra.

Kristina Kelman

has her own quartet in Brisbane, and performs with various corporate bands, has recorded several albums, and works as an internationally respected music educator at the Queensland University of Technology. Kristina as selected many great Standard tunes for your enjoyment including Nice Work if You Can Get It by George Gershwin, It Don’t Mean Thing by Duke Ellington, Fever, and Hoagy Charmichael’s Skylark.

Royden Ainsworth

Ex Sydney studio musician with a history of backing overseas artists in big bands, recording and playing in all the major venues such as TV Stations, including the Channel 9’s Show band backing the Midday Show for a number of years. I played tenor, baritone and alto Sax, clarinet, bass clarinet and flute.

After Completing the Jazz Studies Course at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Royden formed a group named Transit which included extensive playing of experimental jazz and his original compositions.

As well as a composer and arranger of music, Royden is presently the leader of the Galaxy Jazz Band in which he play’s lead alto sax.

Greg Carger Trumpet

Greg is a graduate of the Adelaide University having studied Trumpet and Conducting. A sought-after Lead Trumpet and Jazz player for many years Greg has wowed many audiences all over the world with his exciting brand of trumpet playing.   Greg has been working the last 15 years as Musical Director and Lead Trumpet with Royal Caribbean International bringing into service the world’s largest cruise ships and sailing throughout Europe and the USA. Greg is currently involved in writing music for the soon to be newest ship Symphony of the Seas.
