A beautiful Mothers Day was shot out of the water when the news of Mrs. Parker’s little boy Johnny passing away belted through the Ballina RSL Bowling Club like the wild fire in Canada. The champion little fella told me he battle Mesothelioma which is cause from asbestos he had contact with in his early days. Johnny was a foundation member of the Sandflies and stood proudly to this day as a hard working committeeman helping out his beloved Ballina RSL Sandflies. Parramatta may have lost 12 point but have also lost one very loyal supporter. He will be deeply missed for his mateship, loyalty and organising skills. President Col sends his condolences to Johnnys lovely wife Sue, family and friends. Hard to keep going after that but here goes, winners on the day were on rink 1 with new member Dasher Fields and a warm welcome to him, Johnny Harley and Kenny Arthur getting up 22 to 14 against Billy Inglis Allan Britt and Bobby Gibson. Runners up were on rink 3 with Roger the Yank, Johnny Dennis and Mad Irish getting pounced 28 to 11 by Little Big Joe, Simo and Peter Tootle. Some great pic’s of Johnny and others on the Ballina RSL Sandflies Facebook page. Home game next week and maybe a sendoff for Mrs. Parkers little Boy Johnny. Till next week take care fellas.
