Sunday 26 February: Poor Uncle Fester is beside himself as he has to invest in a new can opener after losing his only one late last week. Proved to be bad timing because his lovely bride has left him to fend for himself as she and her sister are living the high life on the Queen Mary 2 touring around Tassie eating 5 star Gourmet Classics while Baked Beans and burnt toast was a feature at home before the can openers misadventure. The Uncle Fester diet should continue till the opening of Coles on Monday morning. Meanwhile back at the Ballina RSL Bowling Club the Sandflies had a visit from the Alstonville Mafia whose numbers were down due to some late scratchings. Turned out a great day all round with the games played and well done to the boys organising the cards. The Mafia certainly chucked a spanner in the works and won all games except one and took out the day with about 40 points ahead and well done to them. That visit will be returned on the 27th of August. Thanks to the loyal Sandflies turning up week after week, Alby and Uncle Fester on the BBQ and the Black Fella with Johnny doing the raffle. Home game next week and the week after is Green Shirt Day on the 19th of March. Till next week take care fellas.
