Tuesday 15 March. The Sandflies Green Shirt Day wasn’t much to brag about weather wise however the excellent crowd battled it out between showers to make the 3 combined services fund raiser for the Ballina Surf Lifesavers Club a successful event at the Ballina RSL Bowling Club on Sunday. I think over $2,000.00 was made on the day but it will help out the Surf Club for sure. The Ballina RSL Sandflies donated there takings for the day to the fundraiser and proud to do so. BBQ bacon and eggs rolls for breakfast and a sit down lunch mixed it with a few ales made for a very pleasant day with nice company. Well done to the organisers from the Army, Navy and Air Force Sub – Branch and of cause the Sandflies and see if this happens again next year. Next week is the long awaited trip to Lennox Head to visit the Lennox Legends for Sunday morning bowls and a few beers. Should be a great day this one and bus leaves around 0800 from the Ballina RSL Bowling Club so please check to see if you had put your name down on the board. Till next take care fellas.
